ABSOLUTELY UNETHICAL AND MONEY-HUNGRY AVOID THIS CLINIC AT ALL COST!!!!!!

I took my cat to Wells Branch Pet & Bird Clinic because he had an abscess in his mouth. After completing a round of antibiotics, his swelling and odor completely disappeared, and I brought him in for a routine dental cleaning and possible extractions—which was the primary service he needed. Instead of focusing on this, the clinic immediately began fear-mongering, trying to push expensive and unnecessary tests on me.

They suddenly claimed that my cat, who has been otherwise healthy, might have feline leukemia or cancer—without any evidence. Mind you, they had previously told me they couldn’t even do a proper exam on the first visit unless he was sedated, yet somehow, before his scheduled procedure, they miraculously "discovered" all these potential issues.

Then came the ridiculous upsell tactics. They insisted I pay $500 for a biopsy and additional tests before proceeding with the much-needed dental cleaning. When I refused (because my cat shows NO symptoms of leukemia, cancer, or any other illness), the vet refused to perform the cleaning altogether—the one procedure he actually needed! That alone proves they care more about money than the well-being of their patients.

Their entire approach felt like a scam, using fear to manipulate pet owners into paying for unnecessary, expensive procedures. It became even more obvious when, as we were leaving, the vet conveniently backtracked and said, "If it isn’t gone in 10 days, I’ll do just the cleaning." So, suddenly, the cleaning is an option after all? Why was it withheld unless I paid for extra tests in the first place?

This place is unethical, dishonest, and prioritizes profit over pet care. If you love your animal and want transparent, ethical treatment, DO NOT take your pet here. There are much better and more affordable clinics in Austin that will actually prioritize your pet’s health instead of trying to rob you blind.

Please do not waste your time bringing your pet here. It was like pulling teeth just to get medical records sent over to me only for them to still not send them in totality which resulted in me having to reschedule my dogs follow up with his primary vet more than 3 times. This is truly a "you get what you pay for" experience. I will not be returning here for any services. The Dr communicates in a very condescending way, and I do not see how this clinic has made overhead all these years. To add on to my bad experience, I was told my dog suffered broken bones in his pelvis, but I was never shown an x-ray...NEVER shown an x-ray...she only talked to me in the lobby. What Dr does that?

The drive for me and dog (prince) is far! But it is worth the drive! Dr. Wadhwani is amazing and extremely professional! My pup was extremely ill and she brought him back to life. Senior dog prince was slow and now he is like a newborn puppy ? running around and galloping and doing Zumiez’s and snoodling and has a great appetite! I appreciate her 100 %! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I got a coupon in the mail for a $29.99 annual pet exam, which enticed me to try these guys out. As I pulled into the overgrown gravel driveway and saw the front of the little run-down building, I considered turning the car around and going home, but figured I was being dramatic and it couldn't be that bad for a routine check-up.

When you walk in, it absolutely REEKS of human body odor. The entire place was thick with the smell of armpit. Again, I considered walking out but went against my better judgment and checked in anyway.

After a bit of a wait and a couple of forms I had to fill out, I was brought to a comically small exam room. My dog couldn't even turn around in there, but we were quickly joined by a kind man who confirmed some initial information from my form I had filled out. We then waited for around ten minutes until the doctor joined us. She was nice enough, but I'm not sure what I paid for exactly. She put a stethoscope to my dog's heart and said it sounded normal and then started telling me all of the services that aren't included in the annual pet exam that I could pay for. She convinced me to do a heart worm test for another $55 and I refused the rest of the services because there's nothing wrong with the dog. I was just there for a "nose-to-tail" check-up, but all she did was listen to his heart.

The doctor was a nice woman, but I was left feeling like the $85 I spent was a complete waste of money. Nobody called me or emailed me with the results either, and after a couple of weeks I called and was told "yeah we would only call you if it was bad news". That's fine, but you could at least send an email so I have a record of the visit and result.

All in all, it seemed to be the Spirit Airlines of vet clinics. Nothing is included and there's no frills. If you're looking to save money, check out Emancipet.

Worse vet experience ever. The receptionist and veterinarian were extremely judgmental, cold and condescending. Both of them had terrible bedside manner. After, I disagreed with some of the Medications such as Antibiotics that he didn’t need because his fecal test was Negative and probiotics, but I already purchased some of my own. They were extremely rude after I declined it. I had also asked about a holistic diet, but I was given a lot of judgment for feeding him raw food instead of education. I was informed that he was healthy and that he needed to put on some weight which was great. Although, When I asked if he was 100% clear and exam notes the vet said that she would write them for me. However, the receptionist was extremely rude and hostile and stated that my puppy was not at 100% health which was the opposite information the vet told me. I asked if I could speak to the vet again to confirm that information and asked them to make the exam notes more legible for the reader. Both of them acted as if this was an issue. I will not be returning to this clinic.

Savita and her team did a good job helping me navigate my older dog's health problems. His treatments seemed to have helped him and he doesn't have an infection anymore. I'm not even sure he knows what happened! Anyways he's back to his old self and chasing after squirrels again. And I'm happy I chose Wells Branch. Also, their prices are very reasonable.

I brought my 9 week old bully in for a swelling after her puppy dad fell on her hind legs. They took x-rays to ensure that there were no broken bones. After x-rays came back negative. The doctor took a sample. Fortunately, my puppy only had an infection. They were able to sedate, perform infection removal, treat surgical area, and give prescriptions for pup to go home with. I highly recommend this vet. The staff from the receptionist, nurse, and doctor were kind, friendly, and understanding. Thank you for taking care of our puppy! I will be a return customer from here on out. Thank you again to the whole staff.
